A shadowbox tribute to Edward Gorey (Feb 22, 1925 – Apr 15, 2000).
The illustration of Edward Gorey and the candles are prints of my original drawings. The papers are Japanese fine paper or acid free scrapbook paper. The flowers on the altar are paper.

Ofendas are an essential part of the Day of the Dead celebrations. The word ofrenda means offering in Spanish. They are also called altares or altars, but they are not for worshiping. Ofrendas are set up to remember and honor the memory of their ancestors. I have taken to making these ofrendas for iconic actors and famous people who inspire me.

Dimensions: 10”W x 12”H
There is a saw tooth hanger on back for wall mounting.
